ABOUT SURVIVING TODDLERHOOD

WHAT IS SURVIVING TODDLERHOOD?

Surviving Toddlerhood is a resource created for parents who are in the thick of toddlerhood. I share activity and sensory play ideas, educational resources, favorite toys and themed Fun Friday ideas with you.

I know we all want to do more than survive toddlerhood, we want to thrive as parents, caretakers, educators, advocates, and role models for our special kids. I am here to help you on the hardest days when thriving IS surviving. When you are exhausted and need to find something quick to stimulate and educate your child.

The activities and resources I have for you are exactly that- tools for YOU! The parents, cartakers, teachers! These activities just happen to be interesting for toddlers too (;

As a busy mom myself, I know that we don't have hours to spend creating an ellaborate activity our toddlers may or may not play with. And honestly, the Diet Coke can only fuel my energy so far. BUT, fortunately for us, toddler's are easy to entertain and are happy with just about anything that involves quality time with you.

WHO ARE YOU?

Hi! I am Darby. The creater of Surviving Toddlerhood! I am the mother of 2 toddlers, Ellie (3) and Crew (1). I am a wife to a Customs Officer and US Airman. (1 husband, 2 jobs). I was born and raised near Houston, Texas, but I am currently living in a little tiny town in Montana.

I am passionate about teaching! When I was in 2nd grade, I remember asking Santa for an overhead projector. I always knew I would become a teacher. I have my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from UVU. I have taught in Kindergarten, Third Grade and Fourth Grade classrooms.

Currently I am a stay at home mom trying to start a small business! I run a Friday Fun class where I teach toddlers a new subject every week through books, sensory play, STEM and art activities.

WHY DID YOU START SURVIVING TODDLERHOOD?

I started Surviving Toddlerhood because I wanted to share simple, educational toddler activities with parents. I frequently create workbook PDFs that I am also eager to share! I find so much fulfillment in sharing and learning new ways to entertain toddlers.

My goal is to help busy parents feel less overwhelmed with the pressure to educate their children and have them "Kindergarten Ready". My goal is to show parents that educating your child doesn't have to be complicated, take up lots of time or cost a lot of money. Educating your child and preparing them for their bright future is absolutely obtainable, and I promise, you can do it!

So follow along our journey! I promise the ride will be entertaining if nothing else!
