Surviving Toddlerhood and Building Confidence.
I want to help moms instill a love of learning in their children so we can raise a generation of confident, self motivated, creative leaders.
Surviving Toddlerhood is where,
"This is too hard, I can't do it" becomes, "I am capable of doing hard things!"
ABOUT
Hi! I am Darby, a mother to two littles, an educator and a preschool curriculum creator. Educating littles is my passion and my favorite way to teach is through play!
Helping moms instill a love of learning in their children is the driving force for my work on Surviving Toddlerhood.
I have worked in Kindergarten classrooms, 6th grade classrooms and everything in between! Both as the primary teacher and as a para educator working to help my struggling students feel confident and find their love for learning.
Since becoming a mother, I have focused my energy into private tutoring and developing curriculum and activities to support my toddler and preschooler's development.
One of the things I have learned from my many years of teaching is that the children who love learning are confident in themselves, aren't afraid to fail, and are willing to take risks in their education. This confidence changes a child's mindset from, "this is too hard I can't do it" to, "I am capable of doing hard things!".
I live in a primarily single income home, I am an entrepreneur, teacher, and full time mom. I understand having limited funds. I understand lacking energy for setting up elaborate activities. And, I understand trying to find the home life, work life balance. My role is to be a support for YOU. To offer ideas on how to support your desire to help your children discover their love for learning through simple play.
